Dyslexia Instruction and Consultation

Specializing in foundational reading, writing and spelling instruction using the Orton Gillingham approach to students with dyslexia and other reading disabilities.

About Me

I’m delighted to talk with you about your child’s literacy journey and come up with a plan that will support you and your child’s goals. I provide a balance of transformational reading growth and a fun interactive multisensory environment where kids can grow at their own pace.

I believe every child can learn to read and succeed in school, when given the right support. Every lesson is tailored specifically to the child’s needs and personality. Lessons are engaging in a way that motivates students to look forward to their instructional time. All lessons are virtual, Orton Gillingham based, and follow the science of reading with systematic phonics used to teach children to read and spell.

My Story

I started my career teaching general education students in Grades 1 – 8, in both traditional and dual Spanish immersion programs. I quickly discovered my heart was set on helping the children who struggled the most. I obtained my Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers and have since dedicated my career to helping the most struggling learners. Obtaining my Education Specialist Instruction Credential and transitioning to special education was a logical next step. After hundreds of hours of rigorous training in implementing the Orton-Gillingham approach and thousands of instructional hours working with dyslexic learners, I am currently wrapping up my final practicum to obtain my Orton -Gillingham Dyslexia Specialist certification through Brainspring. A life-long learner, I began pursuing my Masters of Arts in Reading, Literacy and Language in Summer 2023 as a pathway to obtaining my Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential.

An experienced interventionist, I specialize in working with students with dyslexia and other reading disabilities and learning differences. I have over 30 years of experience teaching students at the elementary and middle school levels in both public and private schools, including home schooling.
